With dainty flower clusters in the best periwinkle blue and tiny lance-shaped leaves to decorate medium-to-tall stems, this beauty shows off flowers that flutter in the wind. This Amsonia looks great planted mid-way back in the garden or as a focal piece in the perennial bed. Mass plantings of Amsonia are extremely attractive. Buds start out as a darker blue; florets open into tiny periwinkle blue stars. Flowers are long-lasting and strong, despite their dainty looks. With good deer and rabbit resistance, this perennial has great staying power and attractive old-fashioned looks.

Product Care Instructions This plant loves sunlight and blooms best in full sun; however, it can tolerate a bit of shade if necessary. Plant in well-draining soil. Do not fertilize much if at all. For full growth, you can cut back by about half or more in late autumn; wear gloves as you do so to avoid getting the plant's white sap on your hands. But cutting the plant back is not absolutely necessary for 'Blue Ice', and doing so too soon means missing the golden tones the foliage takes on when the cool weather arrives.
Other Special Features of the Product Purifies Air, Reduces CO2 in Air
